JJ Lin: Chris Lee Was My No. 1 Choice For 'The Right Time' MV

Singer JJ Lin and actor Christopher Lee —Singapore's biggest pop cultural exports — teamed up to film a music video shot against the backdrop of Changi Airport's Jewel. This is the first time the talented pair are working together.

When it came to picking the male lead for the music video, JJ's top candidate was Christopher — Singapore's George Clooney.

"It had to be someone who is charming, handsome. An actor who I admire. And Chris was my number one choice," said JJ, who made an appearance at the Moncler flagship store at Marina Bay Sands.

"It was like finally, I got to work together with Chris. I've always admired his works and hoped to work together with him. I'm so happy to be able to invite him to work together.

When I got the news that I'd be filming a music video at Changi Airport's Jewel

"I wanted to find someone who is charming and handsome, an actor who I admire. Chris was my number one choice.

Released earlier in August, the music video shows JJ as an airport staff who helps Chris Lee's traveller character find a precious, lost item.

Titled 'The Right Time' (对的时间点), the song was inspired by Jewel's iconic attraction, the Rain Vortex.

The song's writer JJ penned the uplifting melody after he "felt a wave of emotions" when he first saw the artist’s impression of the Rain Vortex.

In a statement, JJ said: “I believe in life there’s always a perfect time and place for magical moments and things to happen; for dreams to take flight, and for love stories to be formed."

“Through the song, I hope to share the beauty of unplanned encounters, and for everyone to explore the connection between choice and destiny.

Our home country's airport holds precious memories for JJ.

Like many Singaporean students, JJ used to hang out at the fast-food restaurants and cafes at the airport. Together with his friends, they would huddle to prep for examinations.

Today, the megastar feels a special connection with the airport because of his jet setting life.

He said: “I see Changi Airport as a hub for people around the world to meet and form new connections, both socially and professionally. It is indeed a place of sanctuary, for weary travellers to rest and recover in between long hours of travel.”
